National Safety Council- Forklift Safety Certification (Classroom/Lecture & Practical Training)

American First Responder provides NSC forklift training that is effective and OSHA-compliant. Trainers employ NIOSH training and coaching methods in a non-lecture format to develop safer forklift operators. One-day forklift training is available at our training center or on-site at your work location.

Training Module 1: Forklift Safety Certification (Lecture/Classroom) Includes

  • Moving with and without a load as well as picking up and stacking a load
  • Special considerations, such as trailers, ramps and elevators
  • Become familiar with the safety aspect of the equipment
  • Controls & Instrumentation, Engine Operation and Maintenance
  • Non-operator safety training for those who work around forklifts
  • Written Exam
  • Upon completion of the training, operators will be certified to operate a forklift, and will receive a license valid for 3 years.

Course Materials Include:

  • Full-color, 40-page Participant Workbooks with interactive activities, charts and checklists
  • Certificates of Completion to be personalized and proudly displayed, as well as wallet-cards to identify successful participants as trained operators

Training Module 2: Hands-On Practice with Skills Evaluation (Practical Training)

  • Learning to drive Standard Forklift equipment (Sit Down).
  • Become familiar with the safety aspect of the equipment
  • Following forklift safety guidelines
  • Accounting for visibility restrictions
  • Mastering vehicle controls
  • Steering the vehicle
  • Inspecting and maintaining forklift motor and components
